Media-Track Server SQL 

VTMS Server are Windows/SQL based systems designed with the information storage vendor in mind.

They enhance the manageability of the media in your facility, even across multiple vaults.

The Server systems will significantly improve your ability to track the movement of media.

They can easily handle the movement of fifty thousand items per day.

There are special features for managing Disaster Tests and Audits.

When used in conjunction with a bar code scanner, the Server software will save time, reduce errors, provide a real-time audit trail, and control media rotation between your site and your customer’s facility.

Webconnect Function Summary:

Locate Item - just enter the item identifier. Multiple fields of available information are accessible. These fields may be modified based on the appropriate security access.

Shipping Items - the item id's is validated real time against the item already in library. Your clients are immediately notified of the duplicate exception and can resolve the issue even before the media leave their site.

Retrieving Items - All customer retrieval request are also validated so they are not permitted to request a tape from you that you don't have in library for them

Generate Reports - WebConnect Inventory reporting will allow for ad-hoc inquiries of the main database such as a list of all items on-site for more than 12 months of a certain media type. The reporting capabilities of the Webconnect Inventory are comprehensive and flexible. They can also report on their agent lists and Web activity.

Host processing WebConnect offers two options for the processing of host requests they can be uploaded directly as they are or they can be converted and sent in VTMS Server in compressed format.

Scanning: WebConnect will support virtually all wedge type scanner that emulates keyboard entries.



VTMS Enterprise:

VTMS Enterprise incorporates all of the features of VTMS Connect, Director and Master in one product. It also offers additional features for tracking foreign tape media that is temporarily stored in your tape library and then returned to a third party. And, it allows you to track media that leaves your site to third parties until the media returns.

This is the most comprehensive product in the VTMS line. Custom modifications can be made to the product by Media-Track to perform specific functions unique to your data center. An example would be to send JCL-formatted scripts to your host via FTP to update host TMS files. Another example would be to send automatic emails to company personnel upon completion of specified events, such as the receipt of a shipment of tapes from a third party.
